Overview: Government agencies and Congress are increasing their focus on digital risks that impact the Public Healthcare Sector. This month the White House announced their intention to release security directives targeting healthcare it’s IoT devices. Directed by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), the Joint Commission has begun constructing a new audit for the cybersecurity of connected medical devices. Congress has passed a HITECH amendment offering financial protection and relief from costs associated with a breach.
