Tiago Falk joined the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS-EMT, University of Quebec) in December 2010. He is also an Adjunct Professor at McGill University (ECE Department) and an Affiliate Researcher at Concordia University (PERFORM Centre). He founded the Multimodal Signal Analysis and Enhancement (MuSAE) Lab, where he pursues his research interests, including (affective) human-machine interaction, biomedical signal processing, neurotechnologies, biometrics, multimedia quality measurement and enhancement, and artificial intelligence. He has a record of high quality publications in top-tiered journals, peer-reviewed conferences and book chapters. He has received several awards, including the Bell-INRS Outstanding Achievement Award (2015); the IEEE Kingston Section Ph.D. Research Excellence Award (2008); the 2009-2010 IBBME Best Paper Award; the Best Student Paper Awards at ICASSP (2005) and IWAENC (2008); the Best Paper Award at ISSPA (2012); the Top-5 New & Notable Award at CCD'11; and the Prof. Newton Maia Young Scientist Award (2001). He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of the Canadian Acoustical Association and the IEEE Canada Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
